ZUGZWANG - A Brazilian film launch and dialogue with climate leaders

In a game of chess, even in a scenario of difficulties, "zugzwang" means the compulsory move: it's your turn to play. The film Zugzwang is a documentary on climate change produced by the Brazilian film director Duto Sperry including interviews with Brazilian and international climate leaders.

Zugzwang illustrates the potential energy supply inherent in biomass (defined as all living beings of vegetal and animal origin, and the byproducts derived from their metabolism). This broad topic is addressed by traversing several regions of Brazil and the world, illustrating the possibilities that various ecosystems and thier related productive activities may offer.

This event is part of the international launch of Zugzwang. During the event, we will show the 50 minute film, and engage in a dialogue with the director and several of the leaders who participate in the film. Invited speakers include: Thomas Lovejoy, Vandana Shiva, Carlos Nobre, Antonio Nobre, Warwick Manfrinto, Flavio Gazanni, Antonio Viola.
