ABDL/LEAD Brazil presents the 2nd Seminar Networks and Development. This seminar is an event for exchanging ideas and building knowledge that will bring together around 200 persons around lectures, round table dialogues, panels of ´best practices´ and workshops, with the objective to discuss the role of networks in the promotion of sustainable development.

Redesenvolvimento is a capacity building program for networks and development that is carried through by the Networks Initiative, an alliance between ABDL and RITS to promote network development that counts on support of Lead International.

This project resulted from a perceived need to deeply rethink and reform LEAD’s longtime flagship program, the LEAD fellowship, and design new programs that, while preserving the spirit of LEAD, both continued to be “cutting edge” and economically feasible.

LEAD Brazil and LEAD Brazil and HSBC have announced a new partnership in the region: Practices in Sustainability. The objective of the project is to promote sustainable development by disseminating a wide range of best practices from different fields and sharing experiences in Brazil.

The bi-annual World Urban Forum is a major UN event and opportunity to call attention to the phenomenon of urbanization and the challenges humanity faces in creating sustainable cities, where citizens can enjoy secure, prosperous lives. LEAD will be at WUF III with a delegation of more than 20 LEAD Fellows and staff, with representation from Brazil, Canada, China, India, Mexico and likely other LEAD member programs. The Third World Urban Forum will be held in Vancouver, Canada, from 19–23 June 2006.
